Taiwan Expert Series

The Taiwan Studies Program’s Taiwan Expert Series brings together interdisciplinary scholars who study a variety of aspects pretraining to Taiwan. This series aims to shed light on the work of experts on Taiwan in order to foster better understanding and research.


Episode 1: Interview with Professor Thomas B. Gold (University of California)

On this episode of the Taiwan Studies Program’s Taiwan Expert Series, program Director Professor Ashley Esarey interviews Thomas B. Gold, Professor of Sociology at the University of California, to discuss his work applying modernization theory in the case of Taiwan’s economic development as well as areas of promising future direction of research on Taiwan.
