Taiwan’s Energy Transition: An Online Roundtable
Jul 20, 2021

Translating Queer Taiwanese Literature
Jun 28, 2021
Join us for Monday's Roundtable!
Taiwan is well-known for being a leader in queer rights in Asia, but it also has a long and illustrious history of queer literature. In the last ten years, many queer writers from Taiwan have been translated into English, allowing readers a glimpse into a vibrant literary tradition.
The roundtable will feature conversations by an author, translators, and an editor of two recently published works of queer Taiwanese literature: The Membranes by Chi Ta-wei and translated by Ari Larissa Heinrich and Queer Taiwanese Literature: A Reader, edited by Howard Chiang and featuring one of the translators, Shengchi Hsu. We will explore the state of Queer Taiwanese Literature in translation, how these works have been shared with the world, and ask meaningful questions about new directions for queer literature.
